Due to a fuckton of rain the past week or so, most of Alberta is in flood warnings. Over 75, 000 or more people have been evacuated from their homes. Entire towns have been evacuated. Downtown Calgary has been shut down. Water treatment plants are being overworked, leading to boil water orders. Alberta is in a state of emergency until further notice. A highway was shut down due to it being eroded away from underneath - what normally was a small creek, became something surreal and terrifying. A dam had all its flood gates opened up and was still overflowing. Small waterfalls have become gigantic. Four unconfirmed deaths. Police and Canadian troops have been brought to Calgary to aid in rescue efforts. Some people have been evacuated in whatever vehicles could be found, such as harvesters and other large machinery and vehicles. Bridges have been torn away. Entire houses have been washed away. You can take a motorboat down main street in several towns. Schools are being closed all over. Apparently it began up north on the 13th, but yesterday was when it peaked, breaking many records previously set by floods in 2005. Thankfully, due to immediate response and evacuation, almost no deaths have occurred - for now. Mother Nature might still terrorize us even harder. There's always potential for worse. The Calgary Stampede may or may not be post-poned, due to the grounds being flooded in its entirety. The Saddledome - a giant indoor sports centre, a common place for sports events and concerts, has been flooded to row 14 - several feet of water. All of the animals from the Calgary Zoo have been evacuated - completely flooded.

Sorry if my sentences aren't very coherent and shit, I'm fuckin' freaking out. :fear:
